Accessories...accessories, in my previous post i've already told about acrylic necklace trend, and after that it's like a virus, it's developed. I don't know why i can be really interest in collecting some 'goodies'. Some treasure of mine, the black goth beads chandelier necklace, i forgot the brand though, but i think it's from Huer Urban if i'm not mistaken. In 1990's local accessory brands like; Huer Urban and Rola Design did a huge awesome job as a trend maker on that time. What i knew very well, Huer Urban (i feel confident it's my black goth brand really) style described as classic-goth-faux-luxury, not over-hype, and still affordable. Rola's in the other hand, more like bubble gum jelly frost hue on doft acrylic, yes! the acrylic trend was really started earlier, even before the 2005-08 Hilton/Kitson hype.
If you see the Steven Shein tag overlapped the black goth beads thing, then you may remember the post acrylic necklace trend, the so-called-cult-that-so-damn-exspensive-stuff trends. That 'cult' started from very rich family kiddos compounded in the 'it' location, South Jakarta, or known as the "Southern Kids". I found this tiny pink ice cream from 'cult' shop Pompous on Pondok Indah Mall II, Jakarta. It's quite expensive, almost Rp. 300.000 (around 30$) for just a so called 'cult' necklace, i bet the price is less than that in the original place, blast that taxes!!! But i bought it anyway, yup...we still need a lil' bit of splurge to satisfy our greed. Is not that i cursed a 'cult' thing or else, in western world, cult goodies is more about the appreciation of someone's work of art, is not just follow that damn trend (just like some people did here). The cult artist itself ussually work in indie system, very discerning and detail oriented people, more like high underground artsy community. It's a good thing anyway (if it's proper, not faking it).
PS: I found really practical to use a old comb to preserved my necklaces, it's lovely to see them hang overlapped each other. It's pink ice cream married with black goth beads, LOVEBIRDS!
